Radio Trailer Research

Doctor Who Radio Trailer

This trailer establishes what the program is and what its all about. When The Doctor says 'How fast can you run?' it establishes a sense of action feeling to it because running is what happenes in an action-genred production, running from enemies, running for someone, running under pressure, etc. The heavy breathing that Amy does also establishes that the program will have tension and panic involved. It also leaves the listener on an unknown riddle which creates that cliffhanger feeling to 'entice' them to watch the program. The voice over at the end gives the details of the show so that the listener of the trailer  does not miss it.

This trailer begins with the time and day of the program and starts with one line to attract interest about the secrets of the show when The Doctor says 'The Time Lords are returning!' The show is established as a sequence of danger when The Doctor warns  'You've seen my enemies Wilf, the Time Lords are more dangerous than any of them!' The voice over says 'The Tenth Doctor's Final Chapter!' establishes a grand finale to the series which creates a higher sense of adventure, action and suspense; compelling the audience to watch the show. The shouts of battle are calls to war which creates a battle to be won, or lost. The effects on the voices are added for the dramatic effect which will always create more suspense and tension.

Both trailers highlight the most important points of the production, combined with effects and music to create a merge of exciting advertising.
